Hike at Seven sisters, Sussex We left Brighton on the Sunday morning and headed to the Seven Sisters Country park. We were blown away by the landscapes around us in the South Downs ANOB... area of outstanding beauty lol! We hiked the top of the cliffs of the Sussex heritage coast, mingled with our friends the sheeps and took the road back to Essex in the afternoon. It was such a good way to enjoy the last weekends of summer! We felt really grateful to be able to live these amazing experiences! Expat life is not always easy, but the fact that everything is an adventure in a new country is definitely one of the perks of being an expat!

We had hear so many things about Brighton since we have arrived in the UK. Some people were saying it looked like a small London by the beach, others were talking about it's tacky pear and crazy nightlife. Brighton is definitely known as the gay capital of the UK and renown for its diverse communities, quirky shopping areas and AMAZING vegetarian-vegan restaurants and cafes. We had to know what it was all about, so we drove to the Sussex county for the weekend. The sun was shining, and the seagulls were seagullling! The beautiful Flour Pot Bakery in Brighton! After our stroll we headed to the beach for a little nap and lunch and visited the FAMOUS Brighton Pier and it's ferris wheel. The original pier was constructed in 1866 to attract tourists to Brighton and it closed in 1975 and was severely damaged by fires and storms. A new Pier has been rebuilt since. We then took a plane to India... haha... this is the Royal Pavilion which is a former royal residence. It was built as a seaside retreat for George, Prince of Wales. One of our favorite things to do is to watch a sunset on a beach and the one in Brighton was particularly beautiful! We went to sleep early to get ready for our next day hike at the Seven Sisters... more about this in the next blog post. |
